Your journey starts due to a curiosity, a question. What's the thing with martial arts? If you are one of the fortunate few and find a real teacher, and are accepted as a student. Your question is not answered within the parameters society portrays the world of martial arts.

Your teacher you will find is a warm hearted and loving individual whose greatest joy is in helping others. Truly a gentle-person who by the way abhors violence, and spends most of their time laughing at the mere thought of being involved in any physical altercation.

The none emotional steely eyed, benign purveyor of swift and deadly justice portrayed by the media. Has little if anything to do with true martial arts, and true martial artist. Indeed we do share some of the basic physical movements. With the exception of a few camera tricks, sometimes 20 -- 30 takes, stop motion, looping, instant replay, incredible sound effects, and wonderfully talented choreographers.

In true martial arts heighten awareness, open-mindedness, acceptance, none prejudice, honesty, and last but not least sincerity. These are the weapons we use to recognize and defeat the evil of the world. These qualities are developed through years of practice, and an introspective system of checks and balances on ones mind, body, heart, and soul. After years and years of practicing these "the most highest of high katas." One learns and begins to understand love, through sincerity!

THE SECRET

The secret of ju-jutsu is to gain harmony with the universe, the realization that everything in this universe is connected. Being connected to and a part of this universe, understand that the some of the parts is greater than the whole. When you gain the secret of ju-jutsu you can say you are the universe.

Once this secret is known and understood being defeated would be an impossibility. Your enemy if they attacked you would be breaking harmony with the universe. At the precise moment they produce the thought of attacking they are defeated. There exists no measure of time fast or slow. Ju-jutsu is nonresistance, nonresistance is always victorious.

Minds that are full of discord are in conflict with the universe. Thus they are defeated from the beginning. A mind of discord can be in harmony with the activities of all things in nature, by purifying your heart. This is done with a great love, omnipresent in all quadrants and in all time of the universe. There is no discord in love, and there is no enemy of love. The budo of the mind of discord is that of destruction, and not in harmony with the universe.

True budo cannot use techniques for the purpose of compassion, winning and loosing. True budo knows no defeat. Never being defeated, means never fighting. True winning means controlling the discord within yourself. Through the practice of ju-jutsu techniques, can you understand the power of becoming one with the universe.

True budo is a budo where you become one with your opponent remaining centered. If you are centered and calm you will remain in harmony with all things natural. When an opponent attacks you, regardless of from where or with what. They are attacking the universe, of which they are also part of hence in part they are attacking themselves. There is no time or space for an adept of ju-jutsu -- only the universe as it is. Thus your opponent is injured.
The only real enemy is fear, if you have a mind that wishes only to be strong, or that works only on destroying your opponents. Then you have a mind that is being controlled by fear. The mind that works for understanding and peace for all is the mind needed to learn ju-jutsu.

People ask where the principles of a warrior come from, what religion? The response is that true budo enlighten and lead religions to completion.

When you are attacked remain calm, by having no attachment to either life or death. Leave everything as it is to your mind and spirit. This detachment will leaves all things unto themselves, in combat as well as in life.

True budo is compassion and a reverence for all life. Allowing life to fulfill itself without the struggle and strife. People say and do foolish things. Creating discord and imbalance. Good and evil beings are all one family in our world. Ju-jutsu omits any attachment; and does not label relative affairs good or evil. Ju-jutsu allows growth and development and serves for the completion of all things in the universe.

In ju-jutsu you control your opponents mind before you face him, because you are one with him. You move through life with a harmonious spirit, abhorring violence.

The spirit of ju-jutsu is that of loving even longing for attack, and bring it to a peaceful reconciliation. Reconciliation means to allow the completion of everyone's mission. Ju-jutsu is a way to sweep away evil with sincerity of our breath (kiai) instead the anger of our sword.
