Hikari Ryuza Ryu Seifukujutsu Amma®

Dr. Crimi has been learning and practicing Massage (Amma) since the early 1960's, and Seifukujutsu in specific since 1972. He was trained by his Master, Professor Estes; a Grandmaster of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu (Kodenkan), and also of Okazaki Elbow Massage (Seifukujutsu). From 1977 on, Dr. Crimi has been teaching his students Jujutsu and Seifukujutsu out of his own Dojo, culminating in approximately 40 years of learning and practicing Massage (amma) and Seifukujutsu.

The name "Seifukujutsu" means "adjustment and restoration techniques". This method came from Professor Henry Seishiro Okazaki (1890-1951) of Hawaii, the founder of Danzan-Ryu Jujutsu. Master Okazaki studied several methods of Japanese therapy and massage, and in addition he also studied western systems of massage. His restoration practice was in Honolulu, at the Nikko Restoration Sanitorium. Master Okazaki was recognized as a world renowned healer, and had such clients as President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The Seifukujutsu Massage treatment has two primary functions: First of which is to balance the body - This therapy hits most of the major energy flow lines used in other methods such as acupuncture, shiatsu, etc. Then secondly is to break down/build up - Since this is a deep tissue massage therapy it actually breaks down muscle tissue and releases lacto-carbonic acid. The body then rebuilds its tissue to a stronger state over time.

The Hikari Ryuza Ryu Seifukujutsu Massage™ Course consists of a Manual covering all aspects of the course and is accompanied by a video tape to assist with the performance of the massage technique. The Manual contains a Business Course and an Anatomy Course that must be studied and completed. The Massage Technique and Video portion of the course requires that 100 hours of massage on clients be completed and logged. Along with all necessary exams and program work, a video of the student performing the massage in its entirety must also be turned in to be graded before a certificate of completion will be issued. The length of the course is approximately 4 to 6 months.
